biography

Ana Tomescu was born in Bucharest, Romania, on February 11, 1980.

From early childhood she had spent many and unforgettable moments with her parents working on mural projects.  When she was about three years old she was introduced to the fresco technique.

Since then her life has followed the path of imitative arts.

In elementary school she got bored of watercolours and began  to paint with melted colored wax or milk and colored ink. Fascinated by the malleability of plastic markers, she shapes the brightly colored markers into small and colourful sculptures.

Amazed by the creative stubbornness, the parents decided that Ana must attend an art school in their hometown.

In 1990 after the comunism fell,  when art school doors reopened, she started the secondary school at the Art School in Galati.

Ana continues to study at the same school and at the end of 1994 she chooses the graphic art section.

After four wonderful years in high school, where she met passionate teachers and schoolmates obsessed by visual art, she was sure that she has to continue on the same path.

So in 1998, she is admitted to the National Art University in Bucharest, where she becomes a student of the Ceramics - Glass - Metal section.

In 2002 she graduates with a specialization in metal and in 2004 she finishes her Master of Arts.

During the studies and after that, she attended many group exhibitions followed by personal exhibitions of photography and sculpture.

Her experience in scenography and her passion for colour has found fulfillment in interior design, where she can play, like in childhood, with various materials, textures and colours, experimenting and giving every interior uniqueness.
